In the Senate, Senator McConnell asked consent to have a vote on the President Obama's jobs bill citing the President's call 'now.'

This caught Reid off guard, who responded by describing the motion as "nothing more than a political stunt," calling it "senseless" and "unfair," and finally insisting that the Senate would take up the jobs bill later.

"I think my good friend's problem here is that there is bipartisan opposition to the jobs bill." Sen McConnell replied.
